British vocalist and songwriter Alice Auer has returned with her new single, ‘Greek Street’. She has moved beyond her jazz roots and forged a sound that also takes influence from soul, folk, pop and R&B. This track is vocal-led, with some truly heavenly harmonies appearing in its latter moments. She catches some serious emotion in her lyrics: “Story-wise, Greek Street was inspired by the first date my boyfriend and I went on together, at Jazz After Dark in Soho, London. I wanted to create some contrast in the song emotionally and musically, so we wrote the lyrics from the perspective of someone who had that relationship, that experience, that romance - but lost it and longs to have it back.” Be sure to keep an eye out for the release of her second solo project this year. -Dan Peeke
